Welcome to Leader of the Pack Home Dog Training! My name is Wendy Blanch, and I am proud to serve as a dedicated dog trainer in Temecula, CA. With a lifelong passion for animals and a steadfast commitment to helping dogs and their owners build stronger, more harmonious relationships. I have made it my mission to provide effective and compassionate dog training services throughout the Inland Empire. My approach is rooted in understanding the unique dynamics between each dog and owner, ensuring personalized training that meets your specific needs. So whether you’re dealing with basic obedience training or addressing more complex behavioral issues, my goal is to empower you with the tools and knowledge to foster a happy, well-adjusted canine companion. Join me on this rewarding journey to transform your relationship with your dog.
A Lifelong Passion for Animals
My journey with animals began on my 12th birthday when I received my first dog, a poodle puppy named Bebe. My interest in obedience competition led me to train under the premier dog trainer in Minneapolis, MN, Marly Whiting. Despite initial skepticism due to my age, I was determined to prove my commitment. At just 15, I earned my American Kennel Club (AKC) Companion Dog Title, competing against adults and demonstrating my dedication to training and animal care.
Accomplished Equestrian and Hall of Fame Inductee
In addition to my work with dogs, I am also an accomplished equestrian. My horse, GC Lakota, and I achieved two National Championships in Dressage in 2008 at the Sport Horse Nationals in Nampa, Idaho. In 2009, Lakota was inducted into the Horsetown USA Hall of Fame for Champion Horse, and in 2015, I was honored with induction into the Hall of Fame for Sport Horse National Champion Rider. These experiences have enriched my understanding of animal behavior and training, enhancing my skills as a dog trainer.
Professional Background and Transition to Dog Training
Before becoming a Master Behavioral Therapist and Dog Obedience Trainer in 2007, I served as the Marketing Director for VCA Animal Hospitals. During my tenure, I designed the “Animal Shelter Program,” which provided free medical care to newly adopted pets in exchange for exclusive referrals from animal shelters. Visiting over 80 animal shelters, I implemented this program with some of the largest shelters in the country, including Houston SPCA, Arizona Humane Society, and San Diego Humane Society. Witnessing the plight of shelter animals and understanding that behavioral issues often led to their abandonment, I decided to make a dramatic career change. I transitioned from my corporate role to self-employment, focusing on training people and their dogs. Since then, I have successfully helped hundreds of dogs and their owners throughout the Inland Empire.
